Getting started

What do I need?
An iPhone, an Apple ID, and a calendar. Sign in with Apple, subscribe, and allow calendar access; Aforeday imports the calendars on your phone and your first briefing is ready within one refresh. No other account is needed, and none can be connected today.
Why does it ask for calendar and reminder access?
Aforeday works from your calendar: without it there is nothing to plan. Reminders let your open to-dos appear alongside your day, and let Aforeday add one when you approve a proposal. You choose which calendars and lists count, in the app or in your iPhone’s Settings. The privacy policy lists exactly what is read and what stays on your phone.
Can Aforeday work without AI?
Yes. In Settings › Privacy & data › AI data controls you can switch AI off entirely, or switch off one source at a time. What needs your attention is decided by fixed rules rather than a model, so that keeps working either way; briefs then show facts without a written narrative.

The agent

How do I stop Aforeday acting on its own?
Open Settings › Aforeday’s agent. Pause stops everything the agent starts on its own at once. Under “What Aforeday may do on its own” you can set each kind of action back to “Ask me first”, which is the default. Turning the agent off stops it proposing anything new.
Something was done that I did not want.
Open the item on the Now screen or in Activity; what the agent did, and how it was approved, is shown there. A reminder it added can be deleted from your phone. If you had chosen “Act and tell me”, the notification it sent had an Undo button, and anything that would leave your phone is held for five minutes before it goes. Write to us if something still looks wrong; include the time and what the item said.

Subscription

How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Aforeday. You can also get there from Aforeday’s own Settings › Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
How do I get a refund?
Apple handles payments and refunds for App Store purchases. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I subscribed on another iPhone.
Sign in with the same Apple ID and tap Restore purchases on the subscription screen, or in Settings › Subscription.

Your data

How do I export my data?
In the app, open Settings › Privacy & data › Export my data. You get one JSON file with your profile, settings, sign-in method, devices, subscription, consent history, events, cards, feedback, assistant conversations, briefings, drafts, meeting reminders, the agent’s proposals with your decisions, and sign-in history. It never contains tokens or anything else you sign in with.
How do I delete my account, and what does it erase?
In the app, open Settings › Privacy & data › Delete account and type DELETE. The app asks you to confirm with Sign in with Apple once more, so that Aforeday’s access to your Apple ID is withdrawn too. Deletion signs you out everywhere and permanently erases your profile, devices, events and reminders, cards, briefings, conversations, drafts, the agent’s records and settings, then checks that nothing of yours is left. A few records survive without any link to you, and backups age out within about two weeks; the privacy policy lists every one of them. Deleting your account does not cancel your App Store subscription; do that in your iPhone’s Settings.

Security

If you believe you have found a security problem in Aforeday, please write to contact@aforeday.com with “Security report” in the subject, and do not share it publicly until we have had a chance to fix it.
